Shadowman, Acclaim's introduction to the action/adventure genre,
plans to scare gamers everywhere, much like the Resident Evil series
on the playstation, but with much cleaner graphics and a fully 3-d
rendered environment.
Mike Le Roi, the main character, has had a spiritual mask implanted
into his chest by a voodoo priestess. With the powers of the mask to
aid him, Mike is forced to fight between two worlds, the living and
the dead. Possessing the powers of Black Magic, the Shadowman is
a very powerful being, but he also chooses from a wide variety of
handheld weapons.
The environments are seamlessly beautiful. All environments are 3-d
rendered, therefore Shadowman can go virtually anywhere, while
encountering many interactive situations, unlike the 2-d rendered
Resident Evil. Not only are the environments graphically intense and
pure eye candy, they are also free of fog (unless desired) allowing
Mike to see the horizon whichever way he looks. Each level is dark
and presents a very haunting atmosphere.
This is defineely not a kid's game and is intended for a mature
audience due to the graphic violence, but hey do you see me
complaining? It's about time this type of game was released on a
Nintendo system. Stay tuned for new info as it unfolds. Expect to see
Shadowman in fall.
